The Job-Killing Children control the US House Now!
Well, Americans can officially say that Speaker Joe-Camel is in the building. The GOP have officially controlled the United States House of Representatives for a day. The politics of hypocrisy, corporate welfare, and upward redistribution of income have the potential to be taken to a new level.
He also plans a vote, albeit a symbolic one, to repeal Obama's historic health-care reform.
While the House is expected to vote next week to repeal the health-care law, the Democrat-controlled Senate will most likely kill any attempt at repeal.
Obama, in a brief exchange with reporters following his Christmas holiday in Hawaii, seemed unfazed about the Republican resurgence. He expects his opponents to play to their voter support base for a while before getting around to the more serious business of governing.
"I'm pretty confident that they're going to recognize that our job is to govern and make sure that we are delivering jobs for the American people and that we are creating a competitive economy for the 21st century," Obama said on the flight back to the U.S. capital.

Well, history is repeating itself, except contrary to Marx, it isn't farce the second time opposed to tragedy the first, it's tragic farce both times. The infantile job-killers of the GOP are gearing up to engage in all manner of frivolous, Gingrich-style Grand Inquistions into the Obama administration as the US Empire further goes down the tubes.
Slick Willie deregulated the banks and threw mentally ill women onto the streets with draconian "welfare reform". Obama, a much bigger caver than even Slick Willie, may introduce some of the stupidest austerity programs imaginable. Obama's shuffle of the Whitehouse staff will, in all probablity, result in marginally more rightwing DLCocrats if not outright Blue Dogs to run his posts, not the much hoped for (by US progressives) marginally less rightwing DLCocrats.
As infastructure and schools crumble or go bankrupt in Ohio, the morally bankrupt Representative from Ohio's 8th congressional district will continue to bath in the money from his corporate paymasters. Speaker Joe Camel may have learned to work hard in Ohio, but he learned who to work for in Washington, DC.
The hypocrite who wages war against his former class under the deceptive guise of "helping" them, has vowed fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets. He has yet to offer a plan to replace the hole in the budget the extension of his Party's tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires has produced.
The Party of no equality is in power. The job killing children and infants begin the process of turning America into a third-world country, ravaged by fiscal austerity.

Equivalent Rant: Yes yes, the Republicans work for the Lizard People of Altair II, out to conquer the world.
So far, all I've seen is that they want to repeal an Unconstitutional piece of legislation and cut spending. Seriously, with all the left-wing rants about the new speaker of the house, the mainstream media has only demonstrated further that they can't be trusted to be remotely objective when it comes to Republicans and Conservatives in general.
Inuyasha is right that the media can't objectively cover Republicans and the Ultraconservative movement in general: they cannot objectively report how awful or stupid the far-right ideology would be for the United States to an approperiately high degree.
I'm also saying you have the same problem as the mainstream media, you seem to have some sort of pathological hatred towards conservatives.

I don't hate Fuzzy* or the Prime Minister of Sweden. I'm just a highly concerned world citizen and see Anglo-American ultraconservatism as a threat to society. The various motives for the ultraconservatives, be they self-interest (the Sophisticated Right) or true-belief (the Wide-Eyed Utopian Capitalists), really aren't superhumanly evil. But the ideology must be put in check to perserve civil society from disintegration.
*Fuzzy, categorically, is not an ultraconservative, he is a moderate conservative. But since he is still a conservative, my lack of hatred of him proves that I don't hate conservatives pathologically.

That explains why conservatives tend to be more generous with their own money to help people than Liberals. Whereas liberals prefer to take other people's money to maybe give to people in need. Taxing people insane amounts isn't charity, it is stealing.
their own money to help people than Liberals.
Most of the statistical studies that seem indicate liberals giving less apply only to Non-Church going liberals (as churchgoing liberals are as generous as your average conservative). The main reason for this is that Churches tend to provide a structure and reminder to donation on a consistent basis, and their are tremendous incentives within a Church community to donate to Charity on the basis of social capital - in addition to the belief that God is eternally keeping tabs on how "Christian" you are. Replacing the social capital incentive structure with another lacking the superstitious elements of religion for a post-religious society should surely be a major goal of anti-religionists.
Also, a pathological hatred of the government to the point where you may want to ensure as little of your money as possible is used by the state, so you donate to charity in order to gain tax credits, is also a probable motivator for some conservatives.
So you support user-fees for the military and DEA now? That's a new one.
So you support user-fees for the military and DEA now? That's a new one.
If you look at the Constitution, spending tax money on defending this country (i.e.) the military is a legitimate use of taxpayer money.
1) A very tiny fraction of the military budget is actually for "defense". Much of it is geared towards "offense".
2) So you oppose the Drug Enforcement Agency, now?
OK, the GOP promised to repeal the new healthcare laws and cut spending. We all know that in the end, they will fail to keep said promises, just like the Democrats failed to keep their promises. In my opinion, the cycle of disappointment continues.
Also it seems to me that Inyuasha is the voice of reason for the WP right and Master_Pendant is the voice of reason for the WP left. Should I be the voice of reason for the WP center? Or is the center ignored in favor of the left or right?
The new Congress is a good thing since we need a Divided Government. We cannot afford to let one party control The House, the Senate, and the Presidency. It leads to waste of vast sums of money and arrogant legislation. If the Preident is a Democrat, then we need a Republican House and Senate or at least one of the chambers Republican or split. If the president is Republican we need Democrats in one or both chambers.
We want gridlock. The less legislation these clowns pass, the better.
The Democrats are hypocrites. They pretend to care about the poor and simply use the poor to expand their own power. The Obama Commissariat and the Democrat Soviet Congress have made the economy collapse further. The Healthcare Law is communist nonsense. Despite their Marxism, the Democrats are funded by the same Wall Street debt peddlers that fund the equally hypocritical Republicans.
When Bush had the presidency and Republicans had the Congress, the results were also bad. Many Republicans spent money like Democrats. Other Republicans were Neocons who want the US to engage in imperialism. Go out and try to recreate the British Empire using a depeted currency and financing the empire on debt.
Neither of these parties are any good. There is not yet a viable third party. I like Ron Paul, but I have no idea if he is real or if he is up to the task.
The legislative "victories" the Democrats obtained in their last lame-duck session were predominantly right-wing objectives. Almost every major piecce of legistlation the Obama administration has passed has been less liberal than the American people claim to want.
The numbers and facts disagree with you. Under the Obama administration, the economic slide slowed and then stopped, and a (very slow) recovery has begun. You could very easily make a case that his policies have been suboptimal and we would have had a faster recovery and less debt under other policies, but it is simply false on a question of fact to say that his policies have made the economy collapse further.
a) You have no clue what you're talking about with the healthcare law.
b) You have no f*****g clue what Marxism is.
