is there a name for this kind of philosophy?

there are things that we as humans don't and can't understand just as dogs can't understand certain things that we humans can.

I wonder if there will come a time where things that are beyond our grasp will be easily understood and grasped. Maybe even stuff that we can't even conceive or dream of yet.

We grasp things today that our ancestors couldnt concieve of.

So why wouldnt the trend continue into the future?

Some things we currently do not understand will eventually be understood. Other things will remain unsolved problems or mysteries.

Think about it. All we have going for us are three pound brains. There are limits to what it can do.

Of course it will continue into the future. We will keep learning new things and new things will keep presenting themselves to us. I was thinking the other night, just like life managed to move from water onto land and then into the air. It may one day move into space and even beyond the universe........can't wait.

imagine being one of only a handful of people on the planet who could grasp such a concept?

I think it would have to do with IQ

coming from an absolute maths dummie, i can tell you there is a mathematical concept where a curved horizontal line merges with an infinite vertical line. the term for this escapes me but just the same it is applicable to the name of your proposed philosophy of an ever-accelerating upward curve of sentient development. i believe a.c. clarke wrote about it.

p.s. if any WPers out there can reply with the name of this mathematical concept, i would be appreciative. i clumsily tried to describe this to smart local math types but they looked at me like i was a raving lunatic.

Given the finite speed of light and the practical limitations on energy availability, we are not merging with The Infinite any time soon.
