Do you think animals have souls? How about humans? If you believe humans have souls, then why wouldn't all animals have souls?

Because humans are animals anyway and not distinct, then it would seem logical that either all animals (including humans) have souls, or no animals / humans have souls. I opt for the latter.

The Bible says "soul" = "breath of life."

As far as soul = eternal life force that continues after physical death, there's nothing saying that even humans have that.

It all depends on how you define spirit or soul. My previous answer was way too simplistic in relation to my true views / perception on the matter (as you may gather from my sig line), but I've never attempted to communicate those views on this forum because frankly I think most people either would not be interested or that what I want to communicate is so alien to them that they wouldn't understand what I'm saying anyway. Maybe one day I'll have a go. :)

You should, I'm already quite interested in what you have to say. If it's well thought out, and especially if it's as foreign as you indicate, it's more than worth reading. If someone doesn't understand, it's their loss. But some people might, and it's for them you'd share, those willing to listen.

I'd like to hear your beliefs. It is healthy to be able to digest different ideas and not cling to our own beliefs, I believe.

Blimey! OK, I'll try to put my views / perception together in a coherent form and start a fresh thread. It may take me a day or two though. It is difficult to find the right words.

Since the concept of a soul is very ancient and extremely ill defined one might wonder if a virus has a soul.

In biblical terms, most land dwelling air breathing creatures are "living souls", or "nephesh chayah".

Speaking personally, my parrots have been my best friends for nearly a decade, and they seem like they have the same kind of life I do. I don't want to get into the argument about whether souls exist, so prepare to be ignored if you bother to debate me on it.

Anyways, here are some clips and photos of my birds, Patricia, Picasso, Pavarotti, Peter, Pepper, Piper, and Havilah.

I believe germs have souls too. So, be careful not to be a prick or else you might come back as one of them.

Do good germs go to heaven and acquire wings?
