What's the difference between a genie (jinn) appearing from a lamp and talking to a human and an angel appearing to a human and talking to them?

What is the meaning behind a TV Televangelist saying God told her/him to ask for love gifts from viewers?

Matter of perception, since jinns were known to be fickle creatures, sometimes very cruel (wind devils), sometimes helpful. The same can be said with faeries, some can be depicted as mischievous, or beneficial.
