And I think that Assad in Syria would do the same, his father did it once.

However, his jet fighters are starting to disobey his order, 2 Libyan pilots escaped to Malta yesterday , this won't end here.

Interesting that both Mubarek ( a lapdog of the United States) and Kaddafi ( a sworn enemy of the United States and atleast one-time sponsor of terrorism ) are both getting the boot from the people.
Both kinds of Arab tyrants, the parasitic AND the predatory, are on the defensive.

I was thinking about how Syria would be the next logical target of this political tsunami, but the Assad family are buttoned down gray suited thugs -less flamboyant, but atleast as ruthless as Khaddafi.
So-yes- there will be blood flowing in Damascus I predict.

I'm waiting for when this spills over to China.

Honestly, I'm waiting for when this spills over to Syria and fully-blown (since it's already happening) to Iran.

Fall of Baath in Syria + Fall of Khamenei in Iran= Fall of Hezbollah's armed authority in Lebanon.

The Iranian people may not succeed in throwing the lunatics out of power due to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard whom have no problem killing their own people.

I do think the Egyptian people might not hate Mubarack so much once they learn what is going on in Libya. Mubarack never sent helecopter gunships after his own people.

I honestly hope that Egypt goes toward democracy and not theocracy, also if the situation in Libya gets worse, I imagine the Mubarack won't have to worry about people trying to kill him in Egypt.

I read he was in a coma a few days ago. I don't know if he still is or if that was a true rumor

I wonder if the Middle-East could ever become some kind of union or confederation with a Caliph as a figurehead and an organization similar to the EU, if the people manage to throw off their overlords everywhere. I know in the past a few countries, such as Egypt, Iraq and Syria, attempted to form a union. Perhaps it could be a possibility

I am a bit optimistic that the area is going toward a renaissance phase, unless if the radical Islamic movements take over.

That's why it's also important for the Syrian and Iranian regimes to fall , because those are the main forces in the area who 'feed' and 'guide' the radical islamic movements in the Mideast. Without them, the radicals will be fu****!

If Syrian Baath and Khamenei won't fall then they'll do whatever they can to strengthen their radical pawns in the Arab world. This can't be good at all.


Any union attempt of any kind, should be gradual (1-economical , 2-facilities, 3- a council...) in the EU sense , I have my fears regarding any form of union though. I grew up in this life during the Syrian era (occupation) in Lebanon hearing BS propagandas by the Syrian media about the "Arabhood" union between Syria and Lebanon, "Two countries, one people" and "One path and destiny" were the most famous and lamest slogans ..... while reality was more like "two people , one dictator".

Those past unities were more of dominances of one country over another smaller country. Syria itself was dominated by Egypt during their 'union'. Even the banking union between Syria and Lebanon in the past did more harm to Lebanon than good.

I think this clown is already doomed to lose the government, I just hope it happens quickly as to reduce the number of victims. Gladly, a lot of his government have already deserted, I am wishing that it is only a matter of time before the military stabs him and gets rid of him. But he is serious -and right- when he says he will die "a martyr".

Iran is hopefully next, but it will be a lot harder.

I'll clap when it spills over the EU and the US.

Uh last I checked the United States wasn't oppressing its own people.

Oppression is the presentation card of the protests but the causes go further than that.

Anyway, let us speculate about the domino effect. I think that we can count on Lybya, Bahrain and Yemen getting new heads eventually. Then I think it will be some other small countries, then Iran and China. Heck, the crazy guy in me wishes Israel would get hit, but doubts it. However, I think it may expand to Latin America, Chavez and friends have been having too much fun and their days are hopefully counted - specially if Iran falls, I think that will be a signal for Venezuela. I also think that if China really falls, so will NK, no kidding. Greece and Turkey are likely targets as well. The world is the limit!

Gaddafi says he'll die fighting. I'm sure the Libyan people will help him out with that.

Yeah I don't want one scumbag being replaced with another scumbag. Nature abhors a vacuum, and a**holes love to fill it. That's what happened to Afghanistan after the Soviets left right after they were done with it. It's perfectly understandable for the US to not just leave Afganistan and Iraq before cleaning up the mess.
