If anyone finds that offensive - well, tough. You can in part blame my wife, who just read me from one of the bloggy sites she visits word on how BO [Wouldn't you like to have been a fly on the wall in the high school locker room when his little pals made the connection?] has been looking to recruit for the next campaign activist wardheelers - oops, community organizers - to go door to door spreading Obamaism - or is it Eco-bamics?

It is not the door to door - though that strikes me as a bit old fashioned, even in the 80s and 90s living in town I think there was only ever ONE caller was not Jehovah's Witness or school fundraiser. I just politely no thankee.

It is the content-free evangelist vibe he puts out, plus the tone of the article my wife read out. I would link you but I doubt she could find it again.

The man is a middle school Sunday School teacher who took the wrong turn getting off the elevator.

My name is Jonathan. Skafather is just a portmanteau of Ska and Godfather (my favorite genre at the inception of the screen name and my favorite movie still to this day). 84 is my birth year...though 1984 has much less favorable connotations.

Ah, that contextualizes. Amazing how many such names there are. Godiva, Jonathan, Elnathan, Adeodatus, Theodore and -dora - but NOT Theodoric, Dieudonné, Deodato, just in the main traditions available,.

My blessed does well too, with Benedict and variants, Mubarrak, Beata, Baruch - if you shift to blessing you get to bring in Beratrice and others as well.

Born 1984 - well, somebody had to be. I still tend to think of 1984 as far in the future till I remember we done been there.

Who was the guy - who did not think it was proper to call him Skafather? I forget.

That is awesome enough. Hills cloaked iin heather are good but much more muted.
