I don't understand the arguement, like because another country does bad things, one country shouldn't be pointed at. You wouldnt have someone arrested and saying "well my neighbour does burgularies too" and the police say "oh well if your not the only one doing it we'll let you go then".
Freedom of the various countries is relative. Some are freer than others. In a relatively free country it is more likely to be able to correct human rights abuses than in countries that are tightly controlled or outright tyrannies run by thugs who are not in anyway constrained by Law.
Keep in mind there are no good governments. Only bad government and worse government.
Human societies are created and run by human beings who are advanced primates. Primates are among the vilest creatures that ever were. In the case of humans our vileness is compounded by our intelligence.
There is a darkness in the human makeup and it will always be their regardless of government and regardless of law and custom.
