The patriot act is completely unconstitutional anyway. We are steadily moving into a police state. The establishment has no choice but to do that coz of the global collapse that we're sprinting towards.

Every state moves toward police state, fot 'tis their nature to - balanced or annulled by the tendency of humanity in toto to resent / resist / subvert control.

What bothers me as a sign of the time far more than the content of any act or group of acts is the increasing tendency to bring into the sphere of government terminology such party slogans as Patriot Act, Making Work Pay Credit, No Child Left Behind, and Restoring American Financial Stability Act.

I would be much happier in a world where rulers checked their mouths at the door and switched on their brains, plugging in their responsibility modules, before starting work.

You'll need a governmental system that rewards them for responsibility, rather than a system that just rewards them for pandering to voters' prejudices, then.

The abscence of the need for leaders in the sense that I'm talking about implies a value system that doesn't lead to a replacement need for any alternative means of governance. For more information here is where I'm coming from.
