Do you think they each have an effect on each other? My fear is that if Ulster secedes, the rest will go with it.

Any comments? :)

Oh, and by the way: I love Ulster. God Save the Queen.

Who are the "rest"?

Do you mean if Ulster breaks away from the UK ( but presumably does not join the Irish Republic) then that might inspire Scotland and Wales to break away as well- leaving England by itsself? Scotland and Wales are "the rest"?

I'm not sure if the Northern Irish want, or will ever want reunification with the south. If there is a reunification, I could imagine Unionists leaving rapido, probably out of some (somewhat ill-founded) fear of persecution against them.

I was actually up the North today, I love the Northern accent; I'll never get tired of being asked for a wee bag :). It's always sad that you recognise street names for the wrong reason though; Hillsborough, Warrenpoint. It's twice as sad that a bunch of gun-toting pricks would terrorise a group of people as nice as the northerners.

EDIT; Oh, if you were referring to the rest of the commonwealth going, I'm not sure. Do they have any intensive to leave?

Good old Hillsborough. My favourite place in the whole of Ulster.

And Warrenpoint is a republican hole.

I hope Scotland and and Wales stay in the Union. England on it's own would be even more of a Thatcherite wet dream.
