It's been a about a year since I first smoked herb & the last month or so I've got into reading about the rastafari religion. It wasn't about finding an answer just a feeling of having recognized truth and LOL'ing at how cool the truth really was. It's not like I'm going to deny better information, infact hinduism is quite similar to Rastafari and I practise many of their meditations. I find it hilarious that marijuana is in the bible. I'm not your average munchy-loving hippy I shower every day & I brush my teeth with unflouridated toothpaste.

Another interesting point is that the main difference between rasta's and other movements is they aren't trying to recruit followers. Belief in the creator and the bible is good enough! This makes rastas quite distinct in the ways they present their religious opinions. I found that a very popular friend of mine happens to also believe in the rastafari faith he has taught me some important lessons. I have grown to now recognize a distinct energy flowing from people who logically and undoubtedly believe in god - and sadly enough most people who actually go to church are missing it.

Also, in my opinion, it's very likely there are still many american celebs that believe in Rasta but simply understand how their message spread out in ways other than being completely open about it. Bradley Nowell of sublime and Kris Parker of KRS-ONE probably believe it but the lyrics talk about JAH and Babylon also I've listened to both discography's the vibe is totally there. The diet also makes perfect sense to me because staying away from chocolate, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, dairy, and most flesh some people go full out vegan some just do pork and shellfish and that diet is already part of my knowledge on how to live healthy.

Most likely whatever events led up to this point in my life eventually I probably would have found this out and same is for anyone if your a seeker I hope eventually you find god in your own way :).

Sometimes, first times the charm.

I don't think High, therefore God is a great reason to believe. In fact, if you "find god" when you are high, you should know that it's because you are f****d of your head, not because he's real.

I notice that your only interest is 'Fixing Asperger's'. What do you think needs fixing?

It's an offshoot, in some regards.

I think the "became agnostic" is a little nonsensical overall when moving from rationalism to faith, but I get your meaning.

Indeed, and the rastafarian rules for who goes to heaven are quite interesting, especially for people who aren't black.

You know how people with aspergers have obsessions well my biggest one has always been trying to get healthy, balanced, and basically happy despite my mental illness. I work on diet, excersize, meditation, suppliments, and anything to relieve me of my unwanted symtoms like not being able to formulate my expressions, or brain fog, whatever you wanna call it.

Really depends on the weed and the experience but afterwards you can look at it critically and if you still feel the same way your all good. Weed makes me think faster, not slower. Still though I wasn't high when I learned about this I was sober anyways :P.

I don't understand how rastas feel about heaven since that's supposed to be in the sky and I know they believe in zion which is basically paradise on earth. I'm not worried about the future though at all only the present moment I don't care about finding answers it's just useful to know some things so you can live the best you can. Not worried about the afterlife though there's a lot of assumptions about how heaven works.

I downloaded a PDF of the bible gonna try and read it by the end of 2011 :).

The FDA lies again! I didn't know pork and shellfish were vegetables. I could have been eating bacon all this time! Goddamnit!

What I mean is that God is not a feeling. I've been high, it''s fun, but having a really fun time doesn't imply God exists. No matter how amazing the world may seem, there is no reason a God need have created it.

Fun exists, check.
God exists, check.
...lol my logic is not that simple. I don't need weed to believe in rasta it's just a way to relieve stress, meditate, heal my body, etc.
