So at my college there is this anti-abortion group. You can trust them to say outlandish things. This week they had pictures of aborted fetuses (which for some reason had quarters and pencils around to show how big it is). There was a 'bioethics' group that revealed 'similarities' between abortion and the Holocaust, Rwanda, etc...Despite being pro-life except in severe need, I thought how great it would be if I made a sign protesting them since I do not like their message, and made a sign using a piece of engineering paper and a cardboard back which read 'Goebbels Smiled Today' (they minimalized it greatly) I put on a red tie, a white shirt, and black pants and shoes, and was more than ready to sling some Horst Wessel references all over the place.

But a friend said that they WANT to be challenged, so I decided to text my friends to see if it was appropriate. Meanwhile there was a "Free Speech Board" set up by them, which had a group of people who have the same penmanship try to talk down to pro-choice people. A girl comes next to me, and as part of small talk, I say "don't twist science too much," to which she did not understand, so I repeated it again. Then as I walked away she asked me about the presentation. I said it was disgusting and she kind of smiled as I walked away.

It turns out she was the president of the anti-abortion group on campus. Not that would change my answer, but I thought it was funny.

So then they have this textbook and I asked to see it. I could not touch it, but the guy kept flipping to these pages with very little words on them It was kind of sketchy. But it was the most ideal time to ask this question:

"You stated that abortion is a genocide, but there are no exceptions during a genocide."
Man says yes.
"So what about having an abortion if the mother's life is in danger?"
"We make an exception for that..."

So notching this under my victory belt, I went to the pro-choice side, where I got 2 free condoms and a hug.

Then going back I see my lab partner and we start talking. A guy comes up and says, "What do you think about this?"
I say it is over the top, and the man agrees it has to be.

If you weren't keeping track, I now have 2 statements in my belt, 2 free condoms, and a hug giving up nothing. But one last thing:

I went back to the president and said I had a problem with the setup. There is a back story to this: In Philadelphia there was an abortion clinic that you would see at Birkenau. The doctor took a pair of scissors and severed their spines. He was accused of killing 7 infants and a mother. It was very, very heinous.

But that is my point, I said you do not do that. You are stuck in 1930's and times long ago. I said why talk about this when you are not spreading the word about the atrocity that went on in Philly and other current events. She says:

"That is a good point. We are trying to get some new posters anyway."

Yes, I got away with that complaint and she was REASONABLE with me. That is 4 in the victory belt, 2 free condoms, and a hug all in about an hour. It was sunny as well, so it was a great day.

I try my best to stay as far away from those things as possible, though I think there was only one at my college in the past few years, and hardly anybody paid attention. btw, the title of this thread made me laugh pretty hard for some reason  though I was expecting some pictures of you standing next to them giving a big s**t eating grin and a double thumbs up, or something  ... :(

You have never heard of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington? It was a Jimmy Stewart movie.

The key to have a large number of posts is to make the title interesting.
