This is more of a philosophical question, so give me some leeway. What do you do if you long for this thing day and night and desperately want it back?

You can't lose what you never had. That which is not lost cannot be regained.

I think if one constructs an image of ones future that one falls away from, one has never lived that future-self or situation out, but one can have it back by working towards it. Or you can turn your ambition and aspirations towards something new.

Insufficient data.

If serious, add data.

If not serious, move along or say something funny.

"If I've lost someting I've never had how can I get it back?"

If you never had it, then you can't have lost it. But if you want it, that doesn't mean you can't get it! If you do get it, then please don't lose it.

Well if you discover you lost something that was there all along... then... well... there's not much to ponder on :?

You should ask someone who doesn't have it, to give it to your aunt. The aunt will be able to turn into multiple things that you don't have so you are able not to have them.

You can not lose something you never had; and since you never had it, you can not get it back.

What did your face look like before your grandparents were born?

I used to sit around "just waiting for my ship to come in ..."

... and then someone ventured to ask whether I had ever sent one out.

I thought your post was pretty funny. Maybe I need to ask myself the same question.

Many people on this forum think I am an idiot for asking a seemingly nonsensical question, but you were very close to what I was trying to get at. If you have dreams or ambitions and life sends you in a completely different direction that you find very unfavorable, you need to work your way back to obtaining your goal. If I want to regain this thing I've never had, I need to reset my eyes upon the goal and everyday make small steps towards it. Life would be so much easier though if we weren't always busy fighting in a war.

The green is grassier over there topic

And what I was saying is that do not always think that what you were not aware of until you realized it was not there is not necessariy greater than what you have now.
