First, it's an anachronism; a juxtaposition of two conflicting images that would otherwise be separated by time - a 12th-century Saracen wearing a Seiko wristwatch, for example.
Second, it's the cartoonist's opinion of Heaven; that is, even the highest-level prophets spend eternity watching TV, eating haram / trefe / junk food, and arguing over whose turn it is to smite unbelievers.
Third, in the cartoon, the television seems to be how the prophets keep track of events on Earth.
Finally, it's humor, and the more it is explained, the less funny it becomes.
