Does it ever seem odd to the other long term members here when suddenly there are newbies specifically interested in PPR and who seem to already know everything about PPR and WP? Is it even stranger when they refer to former trolls who were here years ago as "WP Martyrs" or some such other nonsensical nomenclature? How about when a new user goes on about how well they have stalked you? What the heck, do they even realize how dumb they sound while they're trying to define themselves as somehow being an authority on your writings?

Some people with nothing better to do just keep right on doing whatever they can to try to do what they will never be able to do.

Stalk answer topic

No one has ever stalked me. The only annoyance has been Nigerian webscammers, and I just delete the junk. :)

So...
you're burdened with fame.
You have an entourage of followers.
Some of whem even claim to be "an authority on your writings" ( as if you were in the same league as Norman Mailer, or Ernest Hemingway).

So what exactly is the problem?

I know that I personally wonder when I see someone who's first post or posts are either PPR flames or complaints about the site/moderators in WP.net, neither seem like the actions of an Aspie newly discovering the site. I suppose it's possible that a longtime lurker could suddenly decide to join in and jump into one of those forums like that, but I don't think it's terribly likely.

The smarter ones, even back in February and March this year, would post a few token spams elsewhere before going about their primary mission of baiting and harassment.

This is not among my buttons available for pushing.

I would assume such "newbies" are not really new at all, but rather old WPers who have changed their name.
It does happen.

Indeed, that is a certainty. How many accounts has Sophocles had, for instance? Or Praetorian? And for what purpose really? To feel like a "martyr"?

Question for you though, what was your former username? If you've had more than one, that is, which is what you seem to imply by your last statement of "It does happen."

Personally, I have no less than 6 active accounts, each espousing different political philosophies.

Can you do that? I mean, I thought having more than one account was against the rules.

I doubt that.
