They think rich people are somehow evil...

Anyways while if I remember correctly the richest individual in Congress currently is a Republican, he got his wealth from inventing a product, not the stock market.

That is an opinion. I want to hear it directly from the OP.

There are three ways of becoming rich.

1. Create a value that produces an income. This could be an invention, a service or some kind of valuable thing extracted from nature.

2. Inherit it or win it in a game of chance. While it is not earned, neither is it taken by wrongful means.

3. Get it by force or fraud.

Number 3 is the only kind of rich that one should dislike.

As Warren Buffet points out, the super rich have conned the "tea party" into waging their battles for them. People who make money with money often pay lower rates than working people and some think that's just great.

The Democrats certainly have corporate interests in mind at times but there is no question that the lines in the tax rate wars leave the GOP solidly on the side of the wealthy and super wealthy. Once you factor in their position on environmental protections and corporate responsibilities, it's a slam dunk. Bachmann wants to disband the EPA ffs.

If the New York Times is your star witness your case is in serious trouble. They have been hemoraging readers because they have lost all credibility, and they are so blatently in the pocket of the DNC, that they might as well be called the Democrat Times.

I thought news of Warren Buffet might have reached your white trash hamlet. Give it a few months for the pony to arrive.

Wanting to become rich is like wanting to become like Ebenezer Scrooge.

Although Ebinezer Scrooge did not voluntarily contribute money he was in fact better than today's conservatives because he paid his taxes and that money was used to help the poor.

Rich people always have an excuse not to help the poor.

That's bollocks and you know it.

Tax the rich too much - or, indeed, tax anyone too much - and they'll stop working any more than they need to. Less money for the 'poor', less money for the government to piss up the wall.

I always thought it would be nice to, have millions of dollars but if that money would turn me in to a tyrant like Ebinezer Scrooge would it be worth losing my soul ?
