Eric Knowles and doctoral student Sarah DiMuccio queried 300 men on Amazon's crowdsourcing platform Mechanical Turk to discover whether they had or would search for terms such as "erectile dysfunction," "how to get girls," "penis enlargement," "testosterone," and "Viagra,"

Would not searching for "Erectile dysfunction", "viagra', "testosterone" indicate an older male voter?

It's not just testosterone and Erectile Dysfunction it is also to do with searches such as "Penis Size" and yes the research accounted for age.

In all honesty, Trump probably does appeal to men with fragile masculinity. Because it is often these people that feel disenfranchised with the growth of liberalism and feminism. Trump was acutely aware of this and played on the anxieties many men faced through dog whistles.

I say this not to pass judgement but as part of my own experience.

3 of the 5 categories could be purely age-related. And it could be both, normal aging problems I am sure makes some men insecure.

I agree that Trump markets himself to bigots, misogynists and people who are afraid in general I just think those words are not the best choices. I would search for WP type no female would ever want to date/have sex with me type phrases.

Trump is a weak man's idea of a strong man, a stupid man's idea of a smart man, and a poor man's idea of a rich man.

This is either junk reporting or junk research—the researchers' sample size was too small and every guy they surveyed was a user of Mechanical Turk, a website where people do simple tasks like searching the Internet for pay. So these guys' Internet searches could have been influenced by their work on Mechanical Turk.

Reading news stories about research is always a waste of time because reporters always leave out details that are crucial for determining whether the research was legit.

I'm sorry. You're thinking of Barack Obozo and Democrats appealing to men with fragile masculinity.

Why can't Americans open their eyes and admit that right now Republicans and Democrats BOTH suck? Our two-party system is really screwing us over right now.

So does thinking Trump is weak and stupid make me strong and smart? Now who's appealing to "fragile masculinity"? (not that I accept that as a valid concept).

Also, what sense does "a poor man's idea of a rich person" make? Is Trump not rich?

There is more to wealth than having money and material goods you know. Trump is poor in the sense that he has no loyalty to anybody, no love or respect for his fellow man, and being a narcissistic contemptable as*hole.

Isn't he billions in debt? Technically he's in rich guy debt though, where he can still rack up his credit cards however much he wants/needs and where money is no issue for him regardless of him being in debt. I'd say he can be thought of as both rich and poor. Schroedinger's wealth?

He's rich in money and poor in his sense of humanity.

Sure. But I don't think you meant your statement as "Trump is a man with no friend's idea of what a man with lots of friends is" or "Trump is a dishonorable man's idea of what an honorable man is". I think your statement was meant to be read as "Trump is a man with little money's idea of what a man with lots of money is".
