True, but her negatives with
who? If you're running on say a religious conservative platform, an endorsement from someone who's hated by gays and liberals is a double plus, to use but one obvious example. I've always internally referred to strategic offensiveness as "Marylin Manson Marketing", i.e. pissing off people who would never go for you in the first place but are also hated by people who
might go for you. In that case, a heavy metal rock band rightly figured that Christians were never going to buy their product anyway, so why not bait them into attacking the band in public and providing both free advertising and enhanced credibility with their intended audience? I know if I were running as a Republican I'd take her endorsement in a heartbeat negatives and all, because a good chunk of her negatives are people I'd
want pissed off at me if that's the platform I were using.
