It works is like this.
whoever makes the biggest list of gay servicemen or veterans wins
the right to use the sailor from the village people as their avatar.
(you don't have to use him you just have the right)
famous is based on wikipedia standards of notability
if they don't have a wikipage they don't count.

Col. Margarethe (Grethe) Cammermeyer, army reserve, retired- famous by dint of having a movie made about her starring glenn close. she was my late father's VA nurse. she is a nice lady.
Air Force Sergeant Leonard Matlovich- discharge upgraded to honorable by court order. a movie biography of him was televised. he also appeared on the cover of time magazine.

There is some support to the idea that Frederick the Great may have been homosexual

His father also created an infantry regiment called the "Potsdam Giants" that was reserved to very tall soldiers. To quote him:
