It seems with all of the animosity towards the Democrats and Republicans that increasing attention is being given to the various third parties.

My question: Will there be enough support for the third parties for them to stand a chance in 2012?

My take: As long as the Democrats and Republicans seemingly control the elections, the cycle will continue.

it will most likely not be centrist in nature though it may force the other two parties to realign themselves in a more centrist way.

First-past the post systems seem to inevitably result in monolithic two party systems. A more advanced system such as STV (Single Transferable Vote) is needed, in my opinion, to make third party success more viable

I don't think a third party would get very far in 2012, though the Dems would want one to split the vote so their Anointed One gets re-elected.

Yes, of course there is a marxist running, Barack H. Obama is a marxist/socialist, the fact he hasn't been able to get all his agenda pushed through is the fact some Democrats even balked at his agenda.

If Obama was right wing, Obamacare would have been vetoed. Republicans dismissed the mandate idea years ago, believing it to be unconstitutional.
