 He's at it again...

Harold Camping's Back, With a Brand-New Doomsday Prediction

This is the same man that predicted Judgement Day on May 21, 2011, and claimed that not only did the Bible predict it, but that the Bible GUARANTEED it! Followers across the U.S. spent millions on advertising campaigns warning people of the eventual non-event.

Joe Jackson, TIME reporter, wrote:
“I really am beginning to think as I restudied these matters that there's going to be no big display of any kind. The end is going to come very, very quietly, probably within the next month. It will happen, that is, by October 21," he stated in a recent radio recording.

So, we all apparently have only 8 more days (or less) to repent of our sins and prepare ourselves for salvation.

If you believe this current prediction to be true, then would you please sign over your power of attorney to me?

Thank you.

This means I'm getting sloshed for the next 8 days. Might as well go out gloriously. Anyone is welcome to join me.

It's quite amusing really - eccentric old guy says silly stuff. It's quite scary that people believe it.

Some quick Google research finds that Camping made $65 million in non-refundable donations over his last apocalypse scare. Even if that number is exaggerated, he's clearly making a shedload of money off his gullible followers. Why would he quit?

Why am I not in this line of work?

Too much self-respect, perhaps?

Self respect is great but $65 million in non-refundable donations is better

So ... Pastor Vig ... what are you preaching on this Sunday, and may I help you take up the collection?

This is just the second part of his earlier failure - or rather, his most recent failure - as (ahem) prophesied earlier this year.
The first part involved the faithful being "taken up", and the second part - the fun events of the 21st - is where everything left behind is consumed by fire.
Mmm, toasty...

You certainly can! My first step will be to purchase a Bible... I suppose this Sunday I can talk about how fossils were put in the ground as a test of our faith by God. I also want to talk about "Intelligent Falling", my divinely inspired refutation of the force of gravity
