Another good reason to kick the Vatican and the Pope.

That sounds like the Beast whose number is 666.

None shall buy or sell save that the Anti-Christ permits it.

I don't think that an organization that is against condoms has any business telling the rest of us about preventative measures.

My best guess is that it probably comes from a mechanistic outlook - ie. that sex is for procreation; that anything that goes against 'be fruitful and multiply' and circumvents sex's purpose, whether a rubber or to a lesser degree your hand and lotion, is bad.

I was raised and confirmed RC but things like that, the pedophilia scandals, and the article I posted aren't just more fuel to my atheism - its truly saddening on a cultural level.

The Vatican supports a new world order? I'm absolutely shocked!

I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I see a story in the papers about a Jew that has swindled widows and orphans (e.g. Bernard Madoff) I positively blush. Shame! A shondah! Feh!

A seriously non-Catholic position. The Catholic Church does not make a virtue out for blind faith. Rather if you are looking to do something other than Catholic bash pick up a copy of humanae vitae and give it a read. I personally have my own reservations about the subject matter of humanae vitae but I don't think it is open to the criticism that it is not well thought out.

It has nothing to do with Jesus he never preached about sex in any of his sermons blauSamstag.

91 I have plenty of Catholic family memmbers and friends I will reseach humanae vitae and will give it a read.

Sorry, I was being derisive.

I don't care why religious organizations do the things they do. I just take it on faith that they have some sort of convoluted logic that makes perfect sense to them.

Additionally though, I'd add - probably on your behalf as well - that a lot of things that I was raised to feel warm and fuzzy about get put to death in such a manner.
