4 Enoch 2 Enoch
5 Methuselah 5 Methushael
6 Lamech 6 Lamech

other than one transposition in order and a few added letters the lists are strikingly similar
Does any one have answers more interesting than "the bible is a lie" or "they where common names"?

Those aren't in order if I remember correctly, and also initially every name would be a new name and there would be about 1,656 years prior to the Flood for linguistic variance. People who are lazy would just reuse names that others thought of or alter them slightly. Many people alive today have the same names even.

same names should be expected same names in same order is very odd.t
(good catch on the order) Enoch and Mehujael/Mahaleel are transposed on the Seth line.
The numbers next to the names are order they are in.
But all other names are in the same order.
Naamah is the folkloric Wife of Noah. so that is weird too.
What gives?

Naamah isn't really that linguistically close to Noach, and also in Hebrew the names actually have meaning. Such as the name of Adam's wife, Chavvah, meaning "breath/life", 'because she was the mother of all living.' [Genesis 3:20] In an eastern oriental account of the Flood, they give the name of Noah's wife as 'Gah-Boluen' if I remember correctly, but the names of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth were similar, so I would be doubtful of the name Naamah for Noah's wife although it is possible since their listing of Adam's name wasn't similar to Adam but instead translates directly as "dust".

Naamah means pleasing and has no lingistic link to Noach not even a letter in common (unless the text was originally in a another alphabet ?)

Quote:
Book of Jasher Chapter 5:15
15 And thou shalt raise up seed, and thy children with thee, in the midst of the earth; and Noah went and took a wife, and he chose Naamah the daughter of Enoch, and she was five hundred and eighty years old.

They have her as a daughter of Enoch a name that is in both lists both times associated with city building.
Naamah is also the name of one of the lady-demons that slept Adam during his separation from eve the other was Lilith.

the other names are very close

If you add and subtract letters enough you can get any word you want.

true, true, but on Enoch and Lamech no change is needed Jared, Irad please its the same name Cain Cainan 1 letter.
I find it puzzling. the names are too close to be meaningless.

Yes, however in current times the meanings of names are often not within ones own language. Yes, there are exceptions, like Providence, Charity, etc, however it is more likely to find people with names derived from languages not their own. Dave, Mikael, Abe, John, Joseph, Izabel, etc.

Shiksas are pretty in their twenties but nothing compare to a daughter of the covenant in her thirties and forties.

My interesting answer: Jambalaya.

I don't really understand what the heck you are trying to say to be honest

The first column is the 7 generations from Cainan to Noah the second is the 7 generations from Cain to Naamah
the names are a little too similar to be accidental
