...who would you choose?

This is mainly for the people in the U.S., but anyone can answer.

I chose Ron Paul, although I feel that Gary Johnson would have been good as well, but he dropped out.

Obama.

Also, I think he'd win by a hair if the election were held today. If the debates were held today and the elections a week later, he'd win by strides and bounds: all he would have to do would be to emphasize his strength in ethics and transparency until his opponent brought up one of those fictitious "scandals." I have confidence in Obama's ability to be prepared for these and rip them apart. As soon as people realized they had been royally HAD, they wouldn't touch a Republican with a ten foot pole. Nothing else could more thoroughly guarantee the long-overdue destruction of the GOP.

Other: I would write in my own name.

If it weren't for that stupid rule about having to be 35, I would have actually done that.

Nigel Farage = Leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party, an anti-EU political party in the UK which is also national conservative, civic (as opposed to ethnic) nationalist and contains elements of libertarianism. Nigel Farage is himself a libertarian and Farage (and particularly Daniel Hannan [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Hannan]) would be similar to Ron Paul in the US. More information on UKIP here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UKIP) and on Farage specifically here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigel_Farage). I should declare my own interest: I am a member of UKIP and assisted them in the last two elections.

Oskar Freysinger = a Swiss politician who is an outspoken critic of Islam (even in conservative Switzerland). Freysinger of the national conservative, anti-EU, economic liberal and isolationist Swiss People's Party (SVP). The SVP are famous for their anti-immigration posters. More information on Oskar Freysinger here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oskar_Freysinger) and the SVP here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_People's_Party).

I'd take Paul, but would have preferred Gary Johnson. I want Obama out of there, but the Republican front runners are hardly improvements at the moment. I'd probably hold my nose and vote for one if I had to, we'll have to see how things look next November.

Well probably no one, but that option is not listed...I will however vote for the stuff relevent to my state, like I would vote yes to legalize/decriminalize cannabis in my state.

Why don't you like Ron Paul? He's stated many time how the War on Drugs has been a disaster. Look at California where the people voted to allow medical marijuana, but the Feds came in and shut down the businesses, even though they complied with their state law. So, I wouldn't hold my breath too long if a vote did make cannabis legal in your state. Change needs to come at the Federal level.

I don't know if there are any other candidates with a stance similar to that, I think Cain said he would be at least less tight on marijuana, but he's a goner.

I do not nessisarly like or dislike him........I agree with him on some points and disagree with him on others, I agree the War on Drugs is a disaster and as far as I am concerned the feds can go to hell. Its more a matter of I doubt even a politician with good intentions could do a whole lot as president as there are quite a few limits on what a president can do.

In a more peaceful world I would vote for Ron Paul in a minute. But we are surrounded by hostile parties (mostly Muslim) that are making war on us. We need a president who can manage military affairs properly and Ron Paul is not that man.

Nor is Obama or any of those others, increasing our military activities to even more regions is not a very good way to avoid making more enemies.
