"No government in the world kills its people, unless it's led by a crazy person”

Bashar Assad
Syrian president

Good, now we know for sure he's a crazy person, crazy persons should not rule.

what gets me is that despite this i have heard ex-pats or their decendants defending assad and his regime and regurgitating the "armed criminal gangs" rhetoric when it is so obvious that assad is a dictator and that democracy protestors are representative of the will of the majority.
"I don't own them, I am president, I don't own the country so they are not my forces."- that ones my favourite quote i think.

He is claiming no responsibility for what happens on his watch. That is a very dangerous attitude if innocently held and worse if it is just a lie to put a better face on his evil. Heads of state must be held accountable for what happens when they are in charge.

Bashar al-Assad needs to get out of the tub, because Baath-time is over.

Bashar al-Assad is a chip off the old block. His father was a butcher of his own people and so is he. His father killed up to 40,000 people in the city of Hama in February 1982.
