Finally - a Republican candidate for president not divorced from reality!

Huntsmans calm composure and moderate views made him more respected by moderates and liberals but Republicans did not truly embrace him.

With a 3rd place of only 17% in a state that he put his entire heart and soul into, there was no option but to drop.

yes and he speaks Mandarin also. There are very few intelligent people left in the front ranks of the G.O.P.

So much the worse for the nation.

I weep for the Republic.

Not sure if I would actually characterize him as moderate... on economic policy he was probably the most conservative of them all. He was the most sensible one, in that he doesn't feel a need to take a scorched-earth approach to politics and is willing to work with Democrats to actually govern effectively, rather than just score political points.

Well, the Republican base has spoken. There is no place in the party for intelligent, qualified, honest men who are willing to work for the best interests of the country in good faith. Make way for the corporate robot, the philandering egomaniac, and the psychotic theocrat.

The Republicans have scooped out their brains with a runcible spoon., Which is bad news for the country. I don't care which party is in the lead. The political good health of the nation depends on having a credible loyal opposition to the leading party. It is not a matter of politics, it is a matter of having a sanity check.

And of course, you're not going to have a sane loyal opposition when said opposition calls the commander-in-chief the Anti-Christ - and seems to honestly believe it.

I read about Huntsman months ago and concluded that he was someone I'd seriously consider voting for. Which, of course, meant that he had no chance.
