I republican aquaintance at an xmas party told us that there was move in his party to draft Jeb Bush.

It occurred to me later that I shouldve mentioned that I had a message on my phone machine from a lady from a "draft hillary clinton" organization.

I predict that in the next election Obama and all of Iowa candidates will be forgotten, and it will be a showdown between Hillary and Jeb.

So our next president will be either someone named Clinton, or someone named Bush.

And for the next centurey the White house will go back and forth between the dueling houses of Bush and Clinton.

And why not?

It works for the North Koreans. Why not try dynastic rule for america? I think its the happening trend!

That is not a particularly credible choice you offered.

Randall Terry is truly one of the most loathsome creatures who has ever lived in the daylight. He is bloody awful.

The "choices" are people who've actually registered for the nomination. Furthermore, Darcy Richardson IS a credible choice.

For any Democrats unhappy with President Obama, Darcy Richardson says he's your man.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native is one of 11 Democrats whose name will appear along with Obama's on the New Hampshire primary ballot next January.

...

Richardson, an author who has run for local office in Pennsylvania, said in an email that "if ever an incumbent president deserved an intraparty challenge," it's Obama.

He hadn't intended to run -- he hoped former Labor Secretary Robert Reich would -- but decided to do so when it became clear that no "progressive Democrat of some national stature" would.

"I personally like President Obama, but I think he's in way over his head when it comes to dealing effectivey with the U.S. economy," he said.

Richardson will file in some other states as well, but New Hampshire's requirements are among the most welcoming for a long-shot like him -- intentionally so, state leaders say.

Quote:
A former Democratic precinct committeeman, Darcy co-founded the “New Democrats” in 1989, a progressive faction within the national Democratic Party whose advisory board included ex-Senator McCarthy, Larry Agran, the former mayor of Irvine, California, and longtime left-wing political activist Zolton Ferency, a former Michigan State University criminal justice professor.

In a 1991 special election in Pennsylvania’s 2nd congressional district, Darcy gave up a coveted spot on the ballot so that U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, then a young African-American state senator from West Philadelphia, could run for the seat being vacated by Democratic Majority Whip William H. Gray, who resigned from Congress to become president of the United Negro College Fund. Fattah, a longtime community activist, captured the seat three years later and is currently serving in his ninth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In addition to writing for numerous local and national publications, Darcy has also been a guest on several nationally-syndicated radio talk shows, including the progressive Thom Hartmann Show. He has also appeared on dozens of local talk shows, including “Arnie” Arnesen’s popular radio program in New Hampshire.

Richardson’s books on American history and politics — one of which earned an Outstanding Academic Title (OAT) from scholarly Choice magazine in 2005 — were cited in Newsweek’s “What You Need to Read” section in July 2010.

Disappointed by President Obama’s abandonment of many of the progressive values that he articulated so eloquently — and passionately — during the 2008 presidential campaign, coupled with the President’s capitulation to the GOP on issue after issue and his glaring inability to pull the country out of the ever-prolonged “Great Recession,” Darcy announced his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination on October 25th.

I sure hope there's some dissent from Obama's coronation. Richardson got 264 in the New Hampshire primary.

First of all, I am neither Democrat nor Republican - my stated political affiliation is "None".

Second, the poll does not include "Other: __________________ (Please explain)" as an option.

Finally, there is no person on that list that would not make me feel utterly sick and sleazy to vote for.

Heheh, Vermin Supreme. That's a funny name.

I am backing Ron Paul this year, but if there is someone, preferably a Republican or Libertarian, named I.P. Freeley, I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Why bother? Hillary Clinton is the only plausible one and she can wait until 2016.
