What network would you choose to get your news from?

I know You can watch more than one, research more on the internet, etc.

I am asking which you would choose to watch for your main focus of the news. Or which you watch more of. Can't think of how to word it better.

If I leave off a network you think I should add please let me know right away so it does not alter the poll to much if the poll starts getting votes.

Though this would be interesting with the elections being this year.


Now I voted for Comedy central- Daily show and Colbert report. A lot of people will probably discredit my political opinions because of this. This will be the first election I can vote in so soon I will also be researching on the internet about the candidates.

The reason I choose those shows was that the regular news is just depressing. Starting in the 1980's the news decided to go with scare tactics. Just try to show the gloomy things that are happening. I don't want to watch that. I might not get as much information out of the shows I watch for news but its better than nothing. I want to be able to laugh about all the bad stuff that is happening.

Edit: going to add BBC.com because it is a major news outlet, none of the above, and just want to see poll results

I usually go to BBC.com or just look at the headlines on my yahoo homepage and if something looks interesting I look up more info from various sources. But yeah all the news on t.v in my area sucks and is useless therefore no point in watching it.

For politics, C-SPAN because its straight from the source. For other news, CNN because they are the LEAST biased out of the three major 24 hour news networks.

People watch news? I did not know that.

If there is an emergency or something big, Ill start with CNN but surf around to see who has the best coverage at any given moment.

PBS or NPR on the radio.

Alex Jones is so much more entertaining than the stuffed shirts on the corporate news.

None of them anymore. I just end up raging watching the major networks.

Newshour - PBS

I personally love Shield & Brooks, the political duals between the two are pretty rich, and you get a pretty in depth insight from those who help engineer party politics.

There's this international news show on PBS I also really really enjoy, with story's from Germany, Italy, Spain, etc.

I also love PBS's Nightly Business Report.

The only Cable News Channel I'll turn to is CNN. I hate Comedy Central's duo, Fox, and MSNBC. The others are uninteresting as well.

I started watching Fox during the Obama admin, as at that time I didn't have regular internet access, and Fox was like, the enemy of my enemy. I started listening to Rush and Hannity, and eventually just stopped. I figured from all their talk, Obama was going to destroy the world and there was nothing I could do. So then I just stopped watching news entirely and devoted that time to either playing Forza or listening to eurobeat. So I've not watched the news (aside from a bit with my mom for a few minutes, or if it's on at a friend's house) since summer of 2010, and I'm much happier now. I figure if really serious s**t happens, I'll know anyway. So yeah, being purposefully ignorant.

I also don't look up news online anymore either, really, unless it's random stories I find googling something usually unrelated to news. So, more being purposefully ignorant.

I voted for CSPAN, as it's the most unbiased of all networks, but I really don't care to devote the time to "keeping up" with what's going on around me, and instead prefer to live in my J-Pop and Eurobeat bubble I create. Yay.

CBC, CTV and BBC World Service are my go-to broadcast news sources.

Primary print sources are The Economist, The Globe and Mail and The Guardian.

But, of course, none of these sources appear in the OPs exclusively American list.

BBC News, though TBH in reality I find out about most news stories by reading jokes about them on Sickipedia

PBS, NPR, BBC World Service.

And anything that isn't Fox News or network filled with fanatically biased reports based upon beliefs and personal motives.
