"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also." - John 15:18-20

Thus spaketh the Rabbi to His disciples; Thus He didst not speakest to the multitudes of Gentiles.

Yep, sure you could say that, and then you have his conversation with the Phoenician woman about this as well as the Great Commission to go throughout the world and preach the good news. And then Paul's letters such as in Roman's 11, Galatians, etc. Oh, and if you're saying that this promise of being hated is only for the original disciples only...

Luke 6:22-26 wrote:
Blessed are you when men hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.
For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.
But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.

That's the Bible for you! "Believe or Suffer" should be its subtitle.

And not just you, but your entire family, and the town you live in.

After all, if one person in a town says he doesn't believe in god, according to the bible the christians must come kill every single living person, down to the infants, in that town.

not sure where you got that from.
the Bible is pretty clear. Submit to human authority and pay your taxes.
At the time, the Roman empire was not unlike North Korea...

Not quite. For one, even though the Romans were racists they didn't have a problem with other nations and people existing. It wasn't until the latter half of the first century when the first general persecutions of Christians began by them in which Christians were set on fire in circuses and arenas for the amusement of the sadistic pagan crowds surrounding them, or made to walk on glass and broken shells until they bled to death in front of an audience of thousands at the Coliseum. During the first few decades of the Empire, after the coup de etat and civil wars ended and the republic was changed into a monarch of which the successor was often whoever successfully assassinated the last emperor, it wasn't so bad for everyone then.

In some cases (particularly Catholicism, it seems) a closer subtitle would be "Believe AND suffer".

Deuteronomy 13:13-18
"Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; Then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again. And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God."

The Jews stole ideas for their 7 day creation cosmogony from the persians, Zoroaster.
