If you sin, and die on your way to confession, what happens to your soul?

This is a question I 've been meaning to ask a catholic priest for a while now, but since the population of catholic priests in my immediate environment is currently at 0 and has been for some time, I think I'd like to put it out there...

I went to catholic school as a child but I don't remember this subject being touched upon...

I think the drill is to say a heartfelt Act of Contrition when realize you want to confess the sin, and that'll tide you over till you reach either the confessional or St. Peter. Status: forgiven.

Hmmm and you don't have to do anything to seek redress with the party you've wronged....What a compassionate philosophy....cough cough.. :evil:
