Understanding thought processes and their influence on behaviour is interesting in itself, I believe, even if there were no practical uses for it.

Psychology and education are intertwined. We have to know how people think at all stages to know how to instruct them.

Actually, I can't think of a single field or profession that doesn't involve psychology in at least a small way.

Scullery maids did not speak. They were the lowest of the low socially and had the hardest job in the house! They were not even permitted into the main house, except for prayers. A rather odd exception to be sure...
