The first advantage that the new society creates is that it eliminates the fear of rejection at least for the chooser class This is because those in the chooser class may choose any mate without fear of rejection.

First of all I think marriage is the best institution for our society but not for a utopian society.

It's statistically the largest producer of well-adjusted and healthy children.
I think that's more due to exogenous variables than strictly marriage, though.

I can see the day coming when people cease to be in romantic relationships at all.

Today marriage produces happy children but in the future won't children be happier if they are a part of one big family?

Huh? I'm a lover, not a fighter, so I hardly came across as aggressive and competitive when I met my wife. On top of that, my wife thinks of that sort of individual you described as an as*hole.
By the way, socialist states such as New Zealand and the countries of northern Europe hardly produces masses of such men.

As a resident of one of said Northern European socialist countries, he's right. It's a slow change but the "We'll just breed and let the government pay" movement is getting quite active around here. Some immigrants from a set of countries also tend to have 5 - 8 kids which with the welfare system means that they get about 1 - 1.2 times a median income in support from the state.

About your wife, when women look to get married, have kids or be in a long term relationship they tend to go for the provider/protector type and when they are just looking for sex, they prefer the bad boy.

Well, my wife certainly didn't fall into either of those stereotypes - I'm certainly not a bad boy, and at the time we got married, I was on unemployment. So, I guess she just fell in love with me.

its funny how any action you take while poor automatically becomes political.

There would be no bad boys because children would be well provided for.

I never thought about it in that context regarding myself.

When you are poor there is no marital status. Status in this society only comes when you can provide for a wife without government assistance.

and the over whelming majority of black whose moved out of poverty in the last 30 years has been a married one, a dual-income household allows one to share obligations/burdens, to move into the middle class, be a home owner, and participate in so many more social institutions. They vote more, they send their children to better schools, their standard of living vastly improves, their children come up in a far more stable upbringing, they travel more, etc. And it frees them a little bit from the groupthink that pervades much of black life, and this constant reinforcing of what it means to be and act black.

it is a liberator in many respects.

No.

Social status does not depend at all on marital status. Many people are unmarried in the first place, rich and poor. Also, social status is not a male prerogative, so providing for a wife specifically doesn't come into it.

In today's society marriage is legitimate but in a utopian society the institution of marriage would be considered obsolete and one would not be allowed practice it while being a member of the utopia. If one refused to accept the new ways one would not be allowed to live in the utopian city but you would have to live in the countryside along with the others who refuse to accept the new ways.

If one fell in love with any of our citizens and wanted to marry one of us she would be allowed but she would be banished from the utopia. If one wished to join our utopia and were free of disease by virtue of being a married man one would be allowed in but your marriage would not be recognized and she would be taught not to reject any male lover of the chooser class. Of course we do not believe in rape but we of the chosen class are conditioned from a very early age not to say no to any of our lovers who are very desirable because no would introduce the concept of rejection which would be very devastating to our culture. If ones wife could not go through with it ones marriage would be restored but again both would have to leave our city.

If one entered our city and tried to indoctrinate us and make us believe that we are a bunch of whore mongers again that would only be true if we practiced free love in an obsolete society which we don't. We are an angelic society and if you don't believe that you will be declared a greedy worker of iniquity that can't possibly understand our needs and you will be asked to go back to all of your wars and hate and the hell that you create and you will be rebuked for never feeding the poor. This way we will overcome all of the humiliation and once again attain the higher moral ground.

But what if someone wants to marry, but hates war and wants to feed the poor?
