Then one would live outside of the city. And one could be a pacifist, one can feed the poor and one can even be a vegetarian and have a wife. Having a wife is no sin but it would be considered obsolete and a part of the old ways. One would have access to vast tracts of land in the countryside much more land than the dwellers of the city would have so it would not be like living on an Indian reservation. But if a man and a wife became one of our family and if one of our choosers fell in love with her which he has a right to under our customs and she told him no the rejection would be devastating. It would be the rejection of your soul mate and would place this man in a state of hell and he might even try to commit suicide so that he could die and go to heaven and be with his lover which is the woman that a man calls his wife.

Now of course if we chose to live among the natives we would be much more aware to take precautions and would live a life of celibacy rather than become vulnerable.

Okay, the vegetarian thing would be another strike against me.

If mariage is obsolete, it will disappear by itself. In fact, it is already dissolving somewhat as an institution -- or at least, it is not as rigid as it once was, for various reasons.

Forcing people who want to marry not to do so is not a good solution. If it is the only way to stop a practice, it means it is not entirely obsolete.

A technologically advanced society would be good at creating artificial meat. Even live cells could be grown so you would not have to give anything up. However the killing of animals for food in our holy city would be prohibited and if a sentient being were killed it would be no different than killing a human being according to our ethics. If a woman saw you in the process of killing an innocent lamb she would offer her body in order to try and save the lamb. This would of course create a lot of problems because was the holiness of her body worth saving the lamb and on the other hand how could she live with herself if she let the lamb die.

Of course outside our holy city we allow the natives to eat meat because sometimes there are terrible food shortages and we don't want the native children to be malnourished.

One interesting thing about our society is that we have solved the abortion problem while still giving women the right to choose. If a woman chooses not to carry her baby to term the fetus will be transferred to an artificial womb and society will share responsibility for raising the child.

If it tastes like real meat, then it works for me!

It is real meat but it is just the cells. You can make it into sausage and hamburger but of course it will not be animal parts and bones.

A good place to start might be with eating non sentient animals like chickens.

Also this stuff about sharing wives, I'm also not ready for that one quite yet. My vision was about the year 2112 which would be a very futuristic society

The society you've been describing, in which a woman (primarily) must have sex with whoever wants her or face banishment, is a dystopian society. It's really nothing more than a glorified rape fantasy.

The chosen class of people is definitely a feminine role but could be composed of either sex and may at times have a majority of males. The chosen are instructed not to refuse their lovers but this is only advice. The lover who is the chooser must get permission and can't immediately have sex but must take his lover to a wedding where they celebrate their love. The bandit who appears to the lover like a thief in the night is running from the law not because he is a rapist but because he is a thief.
The heist is merely fund raising from the rich which fuels the communist society.

Also in the utopian society nobody is expected to have sex with people who do not care about their appearance and behavior.
To make it into the chooser class would require universal acceptance by the community that you are a desirable person. Of course society would be taught to overlook superficial beauty so older attractive woman and men could also be in the chooser class.
