....ooooooooooo

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/galloway-may-p ... 11777.html

It's not April 1st, already. :(

If it was going to happen, it would be in Bradford, I suppose. Your thoughts, UK people (or anyone who knows who he is)?

EDIT: a bit of backstory for people who have no idea what I'm talking about. George Galloway is demagogue/career politician who's main role in life is criticising the Labour party in the UK for supporting the Iraq war. He used to be a Labour MP, but was expelled and then formed his own party. A lot of what he said is valid, I'll give you that. However, he has the habit of coming into poor, urban constituencies, that he doesn't live in, and vying for the Labour seat against a local MP, who knows much more about the community than he does. He appeals to the Muslim vote (which is why he may have won Bradford), by using Anti-Zionist rhetoric. He also has a fetish for pretending to be a cat, which he demonstrated on 'celebrity' Big Brother.

He's also pro-Muslim (not a problem in itself) to the point of apologising for terrorists (from my POV): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Galloway .
He also said that Iran does not execute homosexuals, only rapists. This is not true, as the Iranian law regards any penetrative sex act between men as rape, whether it was consensual or not. So he's an apologist for people who execute gays.

That was a separate point to the sentence that preceded it.

He has said things like 'Hezbollah have never been terrorists!', which is what makes him a terrorist apologist. Well, it's more that Hamas support him, and Hamas are recognised as terrorists by the EU.

But, you must he admit, he has a way with words. Indefatigability - who knew that was a real word? And that cat impression will be ingrained in my memory forvever.

Not really a surprise in that part of the world. Islamist headcases vote for a very intelligent nutter who eagerly defends their views.

Communal politics becomes even more entrenched. Trebles all round.

He's an apologist for Islamism. Nothing more need be said.

As disgusted as I am with the Islamophobia that happens in the US, I have to say that you UK folks have taken tolerance too far. Sharia courts given the weight of law? Islamic schools teaching anti-semitism and separatism? WTH is going on over there?

The fact that some groups just haven't integrated very well, mixed with colonial guilt on the part of the white establishment. In a smaller the way, the fact that the left in this country includes figures like Galloway.

I finally get why Tequila is so eager to bash Islam.

Uh, me.

Sorry, I have hyperlexia, so it takes more to impress me than that. :P

He has more charisma than the entire current cabinet put together, granted.

On another note, I think the Tory party is secretly loving this. It shows divisions and lack of credibility amongst the left.

Whilst he may have the gift of the gab, his supporters couldn't even spell 'Bradford' correctly:

Muslims make up nearly 5% of the UK population. That is expected to nearly double every twenty years, aided by the endless swamp of mass immigration comprised of their 'brothers' and wives from "back home" to swell the numbers. Many northern towns and areas of towns are now dominated by Muslims - not "Asians" - Muslims of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin. A lot of nasty stuff that goes on is simply swept under the carpet or the religion of the perpetrators is simply not mentioned.

Much of the "Islamophobia" in the UK isn't at all but is simply fully justified criticism, which many Muslims cannot stand because they don't understand nor respect secular, free democracy.

You mean stuff like this:

400 kids a year in Britain being forced into arranged marriages when they are as young as five?

That's the one. If it was good enough for Muhammad and Aisha then it's certainly good enough for these barbaric paedophilic savages. Pity the young girls though.

I was under the impression that it was illegal in Britain not only to marry off minors, but to ship them back to the old country to marry them off, as of several years ago. I'm saddened to see that's not the case.

'Honour' killings are a big problem here too - so if a woman wants to turn apostate, or fancies someone of a different religion, they can end up being brutally murdered or gang-raped by male members of their family - or both. About a dozen women a year end up being killed in this way, and the perpetrators are almost exclusively Muslim.

Just because something is "illegal" doesn't mean that people won't do it. There are numerous stories of men of South Asian descent (usually Muslim, once more) grooming young - almost always white - teenage girls and this even being associated with legitimate businesses. This is a big problem up here that the police, the "community leaders" and most politicians have tried to keep as quiet as possible, leaving it only up to the likes of scummy parties like the BNP to raise this issue.
