I came across this idea as a simple proposal for political reform, and the more I think about it the more I like it. The idea really is simple; have Congress perform the majority of it's duties electronically from the members' respective home states, so that they stay more connected to the peoples and places they represent and not the DC insider culture. This would be closer to the original idea of Congressmen as part time lawmakers and full time citizens, and may even alleviate some of the issues we have with lobbyists and such, or at least make it much more expensive to be a lobbyist. I can see some issues with logistics and such, but on first blush I'm not seeing any real significant downsides to the idea; anyone got an opinion?

Just because a representative is in a room with you doesn't mean they are really listening to you. Geography isn't the problem, money for campaigns is.
