There is really nothing new about it. Slashing taxes, increasing military spending and attacking social entitlements. That's boilerplate GOP policy every year. The deficit is not even on the map in that agenda.

We are already spending ABOVE cold war levels on the military before you factor in the war costs. So much for the post-cold war peace dividend. And Ryan says he doesnt trust the generals to say how much they really need so he thinks we should give them more than they ask for. 1984 could have phoned these ideas in. So could 2004.

One problem with the GOP is that they are a victim of their own success. Taxes are low and the military is large. Ok, you've succeeded. Now what? Well, um, more of the same? To what end? You can't visit that same well forever.

It doesn't balance the budget for 40 years and doesn't even touch military spending. It's not a deficit reduction plan, it's a wealth redistribution plan.

You can believe every word that Paul "print more money" Krugman says.

I believe that Ryan means what he says. That does not mean I agree with what he says.

as the oracle of omaha said, “There’s class warfare, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.” ryan and his ilk cleverly use a judu technique [redirected/deflected energy], to fool the 99% into clobbering itself. until us 99%ers collectively get wise [IOW stop stupidly believing we too will get rich someday] to the GOP's "divide and conquer" machinations behind the scenes, we will continue to be in their wageslave chains. and what did ayn rand ever create of any note? all she did was write some crappy novels and fool a following of sheeple into brown-nosing her. what useful things did she create? how was this hypocritical social security/medicare exploiter not herself a "moocher"? how could so many 10s of millions of americans be so naive as to believe that randian ryan and his ilk are actually on THEIR [the 99%er's] side? how can so many millions of people not understand that "we're (the 99%) all in this thing together" despite our superficial [skin color, ancestry, sexual orientation et al] differences? how much longer will be all be fooled by the 1% puppetmasters?

I wouldn't trust anything out of the mouth of someone who was voted "Biggest Brown-Noser" in his high-school year book.
