It's a fake documentary. Google the "scientists" names. They have IMDb resumes.

They're not very good actors, IMO. When I watched it, I noticed they all acted the same and in a way I have never seen a scientist act. They spoke as if they were in a drama class. Plus, it portrayed them in a CSI-fashion, with them going all over the world and doing all these things. In reality, a scientist doesn't have the money or resources to do all those things. I mean, you have testing equipment, gear, travel expenses (flight, taxi fare, food, hotel), tour guides, rental fees, etc. It's not like the federal government is giving out random checks. Scientists have to essentially grovel for their funding and when they do get that funding, it's not a lot. It's a big problem in the US right now and it's causing our scientists to look for jobs in other countries.

Keep in mind it also said they worked the feds. The feds would have recorded every expense for tax and future funding reasons.

To be showing fake documentaries on a major cable network (ie. Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery) something's going pretty haywire don't you think? Its an interesting documentary from any perspective let alone the possibility you're bringing up.

Yeah, it's fake. I saw part of it when it was played on Discovery. Pretty cool mockumentary, in my opinion, though.

Really? I'd say the opposite - it looked about as cheesily acted as an episode of Scare Tactics. Probably one of the only reasons I gave it a second thought was that it was being aired on a Discovery related channel. If Discovery/TLC/AP are hanging their credibility out to dry with publicity stunts its incredibly stupid.

an utter biological impossibility. Do not believe everything you see in a video.

Well, more like it just smells like Bigfoot or Lock Ness Monster because its occupied that cultural corner. The theory of apes 7 million years ago finding more food in the ocean of the African coast and adapting to it - I'm not sure how rough that one is on its own. Plausibility of course doesn't make it true, its whether or not the evidence presented in the video was true or whole cloth.

There was a user of here who claimed that he wasn't descended from a non-human ape, wasn't there?
