I just used the contact form on their web site to send them the following:

Quote:
Thank God for Obama. At least the Democrats try to help the poor and keep the rich from unfairly exploiting other people and raping the planet to make a quick buck. Also the Democratic Party is not as out of touch with reality as the Republicans are about scientific facts such as evolution. Let us pray that Obama wins and the Democrats sweep Congress too for the good of our country, our species, and our planet and to the glory of God. Amen.

I do not know if they will send me a reply!

Democrats believe success is measured by how many poor are on food stamps.

Republicans believe success is measured by how many poor get off food stamps.

Yes, Mitt Romney actually said that success is measured not by how many people get welfare but how many people get off welfare and can support themselves.

Of course, the media never aired the quote, because it makes sense and makes Romney look good.

I more and more believe that Democrats don't want to get people off government services, since it assures that they will continue to vote for them to receive the services.

Services like welfare should exist, but they should be transient.

That doesn't describe the situation accurately from my perspective. I see Democrats as trying to do something about the obscene gap between the very wealthiest and the rest of the population, which is more extreme by several orders of magnitude than at any previous time in human history (and is getting WORSE, if one thinks that is bad or unfair as I and many other people do). Democratic "success" would not be where everybody shares the wealth equally, or where the rich support the lazy poor, but rather where the richest rich are not allowed to get away with egregiously unfair practices just because they are rich. Otherwise, we're going to be looking at the mother of all wars coming up when the poorer 99% of the planet finally get fed up enough with this BS to violently overthrow the systems that permit it.

I see Republicans measuring success by how many poor people they can exploit and how much they can rape and pollute the planet to make as much money as possible without legal consequences, and how much they can avoid paying their fair share of taxes because they have the money to hire lawyers and bribe or buy politicians to write the laws so while what they do may not technically be "illegal" it is sure the hell unethical.

I also see Republicans denying demonstrable reality and trying to sabotage and brainwash American schoolchildren as well as adults so they can make even more money and control the masses more easily (although they claim it is for their moral betterment to deny what is demonstrably real. Go figure.) Some Republicans may actually believe their opinion of what is real in terms of science has any evidence. Those people in the most part have been lied to, or are insane.

And for all their talk about respecting individual freedom, the Republicans are the ones who most interfere with individual freedoms. For all their faults (and the two biggest political parties both have problems because after all we're dealing with humans here), it does seem that the Democratic Party is much closer to my personal ideals of what is right, good and fair than what the Republicans say and even more than what the Republicans DO to stifle human progress and disenfranchise as many people as possible.

Next month is Hunger Action Month

http://hungeractionmonth.org/

Watching Republicans fast and pray is a good way to celebrate. I would love to see Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and Sean Hannity take up 40 days of fasting and praying for a change.

Democrats are celebrating by trying to feast on the amount that food stamp recipients receive.

At the rate things are going I think America is already doomed no matter who gets elected I predict the collapse of Americal in less than 20 years given that China doesn't already collect the national debt already.

What!

I only just got through praying and fasting last week! I'm taking the next month off. :P

Besides, even if intercessionary prayer works in medicine, the republican states with enough participants to trigger divine intervention now have voter id laws that will keep angels from participating in the election. Oh the irony.

This idea that Obama is pro-welfare is just silly. He's done everything right in his life and is a great example. He's an achiever. He didnt create food stamp laws and the economy collapsed on Bush's watch. He's a centrist. Not a socialist crusader.

Almost the entire Republican platform is about tax reduction for the rich. Cycle after cycle it's the same idea. Just taking a break from that slavish devotion to the wealthy is enough of a reason to vote for Obama in my mind.

And to think that they are praying and fasting for a Mormon president. They must not think about things very much while they are praying and fasting.

Last night Kim Wood from their web site sent me a reply blessing me and thanking me for my efforts! Their reply included the quote of my contact message to them where I thank God for Obama and ask that we pray he wins and the Democrats sweep Congress too. Either they didn't really read my message OR maybe they don't want to alienate anyone who mentions God and praying?

Finally, I want to say the following again:

I don't think I'm crazy, but obviously a great many other people have contrary opinions to mine on these subjects. I have not yet seen or heard any argument or evidence that would make me change my mind, but I have an open mind and value truth above all else. I've seen and heard too much over the past few decades where the G.O.P. has done much I am morally opposed to even though they claim to be the party of the moral high ground. So far as I can tell, the G.O.P. consists mainly of either religious nuts or greedy selfish bastards (sometimes both at once).

Oh there are those on the right who are mainly about being patriotic, holding fast to the principles this country was founded upon, limiting the power of government over the individual, and so on. For the most part I agree with much of this, but the way the right tries to implement those principles seems wrong most of the time and some try to rewrite history or legislate reality to be different than what it is for whatever purpose they have. It just seems wrong. It also seems that many on the right misunderstand both the letter and the spirit of those founding principles.

oh, and the popular talkers of the right such as Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are all IDIOTS. I have seen all three of those named make completely asinine statements that I know are factually incorrect. This is not an uninformed opinion of mine. They have demonstrated their ignorance and bigotry to me time and time again beyond question. Also, Fox news is about as unfair and biased as it is possible for any news organization to be. This would bother me in any case, but I am offended all the more because they make a big deal about claiming to be fair and balanced. I have trouble respecting the opinion of anyone who relies mainly or exclusively upon such sources for information about any subject.
