Dozens of mortar rounds believed to be armed with mustard gas have been discovered buried in Iraq, Danish troops said yesterday.

If confirmed, the find will be the first discovery of chemical munitions in Iraq by coalition forces scouring the country for the weapons of mass destruction used as justification for the US-led invasion.

'All the instruments showed indications of the same type of chemical compound, namely blister gas,' the Danish Army said in a statement on its website. Final test results will be announced within two days. . .

The Danish team has found only 36 mortar rounds buried in desert about 45 miles from Al Amarah, a southern town. But it added that up to a 100 more could still be hidden at the location. The rounds were in plastic bags and some were leaking. It seems they had been buried for at least 10 years.

I just find it amusing when people are still banging about how the USA and the UK has not found any WMDs when these articles have proven otherwise. Actually, Saddam was supposed to give them all up.

I despise the Iraq War because it's unesscessary. If anything, the very presence of our own nuclear arsenal is a bigger threat than some random gas canister.

I call it like it is. Why was the war unnesscessary? Not only did he had WMDs he also committed countless crimes against humanity. He was one less threat the world had to deal with. Maybe if you didn't have your head up your tush, you might realize it.

It's not the toppling of Sadaam I have a problem with. It's the fact we want to stay there. Iraq is doomed-- It'll get thrown into civil war, there's terrorist attacks everywhere, and brute force has done nothing. You will never end the war.

Also, the US has commited crimes against humanity. Guantanamo Bay.

If we leave, it will do much more harm than good. Despite what the media on the left been spoon-feeding us, things are improving in Iraq. I was told this by not only my cousin but a few others who had served a tour of duty in Iraq. We cannot bow down to the insurgents in anyway.

WMD means stock piles and lots of them and bigger then a mortar round, at least enough to justify attacking a country

And buried for at least 10 years? America invaded a few years ago.. Seems like they rid of them already, albeit half assed.. Why didnt they deal with this 10 years, ago?

Also, picture this. We'bve got Iraq. Making a bomb is easy. Anyone can go and detonate one.

The problem isn't detonating the bombs. It's getting back alive.

But since suicide bombers dont' care about the second part... Well you get the point.

What about Bush? You're all on board with this - Where's your heart and sympathy for Darfur? I dont see you posting how those people are dying (in higher numbers, as well). Under this war, over 100,000 Iraqi's have lost their lives and all anyone can do to justify that number is to state 'its just war.' Iraqi's are leaving their country - <thinking to myself> I'd like to compare the amount of people migrating from Iraq during Saddam's bad days versus during this war.

This is why this whole war is hypocrisy - Bush doesn't care about people or liberating them or you, he cares about his nations interests aka economy. You dont find it the least bit illogical you're sending billions to a country that is based around oil exporting? The country should have no problem funding itself - what do you think that moneys going towards? Bush can't even fund New Orleans correctly and you put faith in this war?

You talk about threats, what threats? America helped Kuwait in the early 90's rid of Iraq then nothing. Saddam had already killed all those people, in 1988, yet, it took until 2003 to do something? Wow, I hope when I commit a crime it reaches no one's interest level until 15 years later.

So:
1) People in Darfur are dying by thousands, the area is rampant with geurilla warfare and crime - I dont see sympathy
2) Iraq is an oil nation - billions funding an Oil nation?
3) Saddam killed (genocide?) in 1988 - Why didnt we do something about him then?
4) If Iraq was a problem, why wasnt it taken care of 100% during the first gulf war? Why were astrocities aloud to continue?

You're right, taking down a threat years after he last did anything is amazing! I hope all crime and punishment is treated this way - shouldnt mess anything up. Don't be surprised if the hate level of the middle East continues to grow - I wont - but I think we can keep walking this path until humanity is no longer complaining about freedom, they are merely fighting to simply survive through all the lies and warfare. Join the war party if you must, but WW1 was the war to end all wars - Doesnt work like that

Just because you're on this side of the war, doesnt mean there isn't another side. The taliban may even call themselves 'freedom fighters' instead of terrorist. They call 'America' a 'tyranny.' You dont remember but the British were once Tyrants to Americans - America fought them - British would have called americans 'Terrorist' back then. America had a reason to fight. Maybe America should just blow the world up and rid of any threats because thats what it will come down to. Either think of a new, different solution or continue killing.
