Suppose in the far future we determine that god does not exist, we know everything that is, and god it is determined does not exist.
Suppose the technology existed to create god (an all powerful being which can damn you to hell for all eternity if you do something it thinks is bad). Would you create it?

Maybe, but only if I could give her a nicer attitude.

If we could create God, wouldn't that make us gods, albeit higher ones?

It is possible to create something more complicated than one's self.

I would create it, and then humiliate it, kick its ass, beat it to a bloody pulp leave it in a ditch to die and drive away. Yeah I made that impossible but I'll do it anyway.

Um.... sure? Why not. So long as we're careful not to make god a jerk, then that sounds like a really cool innovation.

Wow, I think that makes you a jerk. In fact, probably a bigger jerk than god in many religious traditions.

well most gods are vengefull bastards with millions if not more on hteir conscience, in regards tot he other thread in ppr that may or may not be reason enough for such action s to be taken.

if we create a god which one should we create?
i would like one of the great old ones, nothing like a litlle forced insanity.

that will never happen because it is impossible to create the force that created the universe, because to do so, it would require that you exist before the universe exists, and since you are a part of the universe, you would not exist before the existence of the universe to create the creator of you and all existence.

i am not going to respond to any detraction because my words are my final understanding that cannot be modified.

The word "suppose" means to ignore all that stuff you just said and just suppose. Like suppose that wasn't a circular definition just now and you get what I meant.
In other words "you refuse to suppose".

The concept of a god is not a good one, it tells a story of inequality, a superior being.

As Charles Darwin once said. God was created from the image of man, not man created from the image of god...

I've read a book that had an idea like this but can't remember its name (it wasn't that good). But its an interesting idea. I don't think it will happen though, even if it were possible, I don't think we would trust anything we create with our future.

As Arthur C Clarke said - we should reserve the right to pull the plug.

Chances are, we'd end up creating a demiuge more than an actual God. We already did this anyway. Its called money.
