I recently watched "Lord of War" with Nicolas Cage, I learned that movie was loosely based on Viktor Bout biography, i learned about extradition to USA and trail, i wondering on what basis he was tried in the U.S,
I really respect the Americans, despite arm dealer which make money on war and death are worst scum in the World I wonder whether Americans did not usurp the role of the judge of world,

He was trying to sell arms to FARC, so they got him on terrorism. He was guilty of selling to people who the USA did not favour.

I wonder what it would be if Putin sent GRU agents to break out him from prison, it would be really interesting what would be have happened

Not very likely that they would succeed. Last time I checked, Bout is in a Communication Management Unit at USP Marion. I'm guessing that only way the US could have put him in a more secure place would probably be by shipping him off to ADX Florence (And the design of ADX Florence is apparently based on USP Marion).

The GRU/Spetsnatz are badass, but probably not *that* badass.

Oh, and then there's the entire aftermath in the shape of a diplomatic crisis between the two biggest nuclear powers in the world.. thingy.

Putin wouldn't need the Gru, He'd single handedly take down the whole prison brick by brick with his barehand. . .. Oh and he is more focused on Improving Russia and making sure America doesn't get into posistion to threaten them.

Also. . . Isn't America like one of the biggest Arms dealers in the world? Hell you Supplied the IRA and Osama at one point.

As said before it would be fun to watch the diplomatic crisis, and we have nice repeat of Cuban Misled Crisis and all of that because on Arm Dealer :D

But I'm sure that will not result in a nuclear war, I'm sure of that

Yes, shame on those US bastards for opposing an organization that uses child soldiers and engages in slavery and rape.

I didn't say anything about the (im)morality of FARC, did I? The US has sold to people who are just as bad, though.
And no, I'm not condoning what he did. Two wrongs, and all that...

It's a travesty that Bout is in prison whilst Paul Kagame, aka the Hitler of Africa, is attacking the Congo again!

I think the only way Bout would get out early is via prisoner exchange. It's possible he could get paroled after 15ish years, though. Lots of people in the fed system for a long time, ala the Shakurs, are ETAed to be released in the next few years in their old age. It's interesting he's in comm management unit like that, while it's probably fairly safe for him, it's certainly no min security country club kinda jail.

Quote:
Bout's wife Alla has stated that the judge acted correctly and that 25 years was the minimum term for the alleged crime.[79]

LOL at his wife throwing him under the bus.

Is an "arm dealer" someone who sells prosthetic limbs?

Seriously, I'm not certain why someone who supplies weapons gets more time than someone who directly oversees acts of genocide/crimes against humanity. Perhaps it's because corporations stand to make an immense profit off of the exploitation of natural resources in certain regions...
