Israel unmasked, to reveal the racist nature underneath. Like the 1950s USA all over again. Guess they want to segregated public transport so they can start bombing with impunity without risking Israeli lives.

On one hand, many of us Americans will see this as an Israeli answer to separate but equal. But I'd imagine the Israeli answer would be it's simply a way to cut down on suicide bombings.

If it was operated by the Palestinian authority, you might have a case but its not. I don't understand how this can be dressed up as anything other than craven racism on Israel's part.

Justifying it by saying Palestinians are more likely to be suicide bombers is analogous to saying there is a precedence for black only buses because black people are more likely to be criminals.

its not the point, by operating this policy they're making a broad generalisation that all arabs are potential bombers. The policy of american blacks having to give up their seats is born from similar thought processes behind this.

I would also like to know how much of this is intended to give the Israeli air force better targets.

It's not good for the air force to bomb their own roads short of them being invaded. Not only does it make Israeli buses safer, but it provides a cheaper option than the private buses operating out of the west bank......and the Israeli buses will smell a lot better too so everybody wins!

Sounds like segregation to me.It makes people even more divided.Remember when there were white and black drinking fountains?And there were bombings and terror down here.

I didn't get the smell thing. Is it the obvious and despicable racist comment or can it be understood as an innocent joke?

Anyway, I can't be judgemental towards the authorities who conceived this rule. In a country with such a danger of suicide bombing, that could be understood as being pragmatic, not racist. But I will not make bets on the absence of racism here. Both sides of the conflict have lost their reason a long time ago.

Most off the middle east has very poor to non-existent hygiene. The Palestinian parts of the west bank are usually critically low on water even for drinking and cooking.
