I recently received this green Buddha statue as a gift and I couldn't figure out what the symbol was on his back.
Looked all over the internet and can't find it I'm obviously typing the wrong thing.
So could anyone help me find out or even tell me what this symbol means?
:D

Can't really make it out in any detail, but I'm thinking it might be the Om.

First all, that is not the Buddha. That is Hotei, or, in some later versions, Maitreya.

Anyway, it apears to be chinese characters.
