An Example Of How The “Liberal” Media Have Adopted The Conservative Tabloid Press’ Prudish Attitude Towards Sex

I’ve just seen this on The Guardian’s website…

http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2013/apr/28/pornography-everywhere-changing-feelings-sex

Mariella Frostrup’s views would not look out of place in the Daily Mail. Yet it’s of little surprise that she is given a platform in The Guardian to rant against pornography.

The prudish view of adult sexual entertainment held by most right-wing moralising hacks and the tabloid press has now been adopted by “left-wing” collomnits and scaremongering and panic that sex is “everywhere” and society is being corrupted by the evils of porn now circulates the “liberal” broadsheets.

I did notice this one. There has been a strong 'won't someone think of the children?' element among certain CiF columnists for a while now.

It seems to me that elements of the left - and it's generally some women who call themselves feminist - is becoming strongly puritanical and has been for a while now.

I can sympathise with it a bit. Straight raunch culture and the way it presents sexuality makes me want to bat for the other side more. I do watch a fair amount of porn, but I have to actively try and stay away from some things; I feel more attracted to men when I do.

She's not saying porn should be banned, just that it's putting some women off sex, and it is.
