God Loves Uganda

Anyone want to see this? I really enjoyed Call Me Kuchu and I think the wickedness of the U.S. fundamentalist angle is something that was not really covered properly in that film.

Basically, God Loves Uganda investigates the fundamentalist Christian haters that are pouring money, missionaries and poison into Uganda from the United States.

Anyone else fancy seeing it?

Africa is their playground, and in particular the pro-Western darling states like Uganda under that long dictatorship but even Charles Taylor during his time. Another case in Central America was Guatemala under Jose Efrain Rios Montt, a full-fledged Christian fundamentalist state complete with slave labour camps, Rios Montt giving sermons every Sunday and massacres of the "heathens" for which Rios was recently tried for genocide though as people in power were implicated during the trial it was effectively stopped.

I've already heard about this violent homophobia spawned by the American religious right in Uganda, from Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. Most guilty is a sinister fundamentalist group made up of Washington DC senators and congressmen called the Family (including the once and future S.C. governor Mark Sanford when he had served in the senate), which teaches the completely Anti-Christian theology that God favors the rich and powerful, and allows them to literally get away with murder.

Ugandan dictator Yowero Museveni is a member of the Family and he has caused the deaths of millions throughout central Africa. His dictatorship was established in 1986.

Museveni - how much of the Bush War is his fault? I guess we start with that. Some say 500,000 died in the Bush War but usually this is blamed on Milton Obote who was president through most of that time. One faction under his command was a group of exiled Tutsis from Rwanda and Paul Kagame became his chief of intelligence. A section of Uganda's army invaded Rwanda and called itself the RPF an this was soon to be led by Kagame. This is Museveni who was behind that. The RPF started the war in Rwanda that caused hundreds of thousands of further deaths, and then the RPF with Museveni's army also helping out invaded Zaire and killed several hundred thousand Hutu refugees there, and ousted Mobutu which I suppose on a certain level is not a bad thing, though he was ill and died soon after. The worst part happened after the new leader of Zaire, named again the Congo, was tired of being bossed around by Tutsis and his country was invaded again by the Museveni-created monster, the RPF, again with Uganda helping out and sending troops, and this is the war that killed millions. This is still going on in the form of the M23 war in the Congo.
