Why Must Other's be Part of Our Vision of the World?

Why do we fight over policy? Why can't we just disband, and pursue our own systems? Why must we debate this or that system? Why must be part of your particular system? Why must you be part of mine? Why is there such a lust for power on the part of people? Are their lives that boring, that they must manipulate others, either directly or indirectly?
