Quote:
The British Columbia government forced blood transfusions for two of the four surviving premature babies last week despite the objections of the babies' parents, who are members of the Jehovah's Witness faith and believe the Bible prohibits transfusions.

Gordon Campbell, premier of the province of British Columbia, defended the intervention, saying that while Canada protects religious freedom it also has an obligation to protect children's lives.

So, when does "belief" turn into a pile of "horses**t?"

OK, I'm calming down. Sometimes, people's beliefs are no longer "humour" and "stupid" but they turn "wreckless"

I honestly think, after reading this, that some peoples beliefs infringe on others. This is almost a form of "oppression" and these children cannot speak for themselves.

The only thing I've heard that has made any sense was my friend stating that: "Maybe they dont want 6 babies"

What do you think? Should we continue to humour every ret*d belief or step in for those who cannot defend?

I think the situation was handled well. The parents cancarry their beliefs, the children got their needed transfusions. What the f'ck is your problem?!

WTF is your problem? I'll give you a hot fantastic tip. If you've trouble making friends in real life, tip number 1 is to not say "what the f**k is your problem" because it makes people dislike you.

As for me, calling this belief ret*d and not making friends? Well, if people are part of this religion, then I consider them ret*d and don't want to be around them. I'd prefer they get removed before they end up causing a great deal of harm

I knew an adult , a friend of my brother, who died because her estranged husband was the only person they could get a hold of when routine surgery went bad (they hit an artery) he was very devout JW she was not he told them no transfusions. She died

In that situation, the parents shouldn't have a say on their children's health like that. Besides, the kids haven't professed a faith yet. By helping them live you give them a chance to have religious freedom, and the chance to choose to be JW or not.

sorry to say, but i call that religion(or cult whatever you put it) religion assisted suicide, there are good people out there but it seems religion is killing them(literally)

if i was him and the surgion hit a main blood vessel, id have him sew it up, not stand there or ask next of kin what to do, i mean id think its part of a doctor's ethics to act to save the life if he made a mistake, just hope this dont come down on doctor and him being accused of murder next all because he nicked an artery and was told to not sew it up and SAVE the life.

that religion also protects child molesters from getting caught and taken to justice too. and for teh jehovahs to believe soeone when they go to clergy for help, there has to be like 2 or 3 jehovahs witnesses witness the incident to prove it happened, that dont make sence because killers, child molesters ahh ,work alone,

sorry about all this, but i have seen a documentry on the jehovahs witnesses and also stories of ex jehovahs who either quit or have been disfellowshipped,

best thing to do for problems, go to police and find a new religion (no offense to followers here)
