Anyone seen this? It was a movie about sexual abuse in the Catholic Church long before it ever made headlines around the world.
What did you think of the movie? Who was it that impregnated Agnes?

It's been awhile.I remember it was a good movie.Maybe it was immaculate conception :D
Another good movie is the Magdalene Sisters. Those nuns were horrid.

Whenever I watch that movie I always wonder who is the father of that baby. I hate the way they make it sound like it is immaculate conception because for one, that's impossible and for another, the baby was killed by the mother so it's like they are saying Jesus should have been killed in a similar fashion at birth.

I've never even seen it.

I have seen the Magdalene Sisters though.

But I have to say that I spent some of my childhood being looked after by nuns and they were really lovely people.

I had seen the movie years ago, but I think I remember it well enough. In regard to who the father was, I thought the lead character at the movie's end had guessed Agnes had been probably been raped by one of the anonymous workmen on site months before.

The ending bothered me. You cannot just guess. The idea must have been who the father was didn't matter.

And another thing I wonder...did the movie imply Agnes had some kind of mental disability? I know she was abused by her mother. When the Mother Superior described her as being an innocent it seemed very vague to me. I didn't know what she meant except Agnes experienced the stigmata. Was that what she meant by innocent?
I like my law movies to be a bit more concise.

Maybe Agnes gave birth to the Antichrist and thought she was doing the world a favor.
