I am against the Death Penalty, but when it comes to defending the welfare, I can get quite angry at people who wants to abolish it,
because I depend on welfare, because I cannot support myself.

In that context, my Original Post was written to reflect the fact that I am scared of getting evicted, placed on the street and having to beg for food, because
I cannot find a job and wouldn't be able to work if I found one.

The following post, which I have now enclosed in quotation is not to be taken serious, even though I actually wrote it quite seriously.

I'd like this thread to be locked or deleted.

Sorry.

Quote:
I recently read in a newspaper, that people are more inclined to support the Welfare State when their blood sugar is low.

This is due to the fact that during the Stone Ages, when hunter-gatherers went home with nothing, they had to beg their neighbors for help.

I believe we can efficiently make people believe in the welfare state, by imposing the Death Penalty by Starvation for anyone who do not support
the Welfare State or who wants to cut it. I firmly believe it should be a capital crime not to support an extensive welfare state.

To ensure this, first-time offenders will be sentenced to starvation, until they beg for food AND sign a document that they will for all eternity support the Welfare State.

If they refuse to support it a second time, they should be left to starve to death. Anyone caught feeding them will be subject to firing squad.

This is nothing short of hideous, and assuming this isn't some kind of sarcastic, Swift-like "modest proposal", you should feel ashamed to have ever voiced this idea.

To say nothing of the barbarism of capital punishment in general, forcing others to adopt your moral-political opinion like this is wrong regardless of whatever morality you are pushing, and is only worthy of shining examples of humanity like Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot.

This is an example of the way that economists envision societies that have never had money. It shows that they can't be bothered to walk across campus and ask some basic questions of one of the anthropology professors, or else they know that the answers would expose the absurdity of their founding myth.

It's also really cute the way you refer to "neighbors."

I find that to be far too extreme.

Tribal hunters hunt as a pack and share their kills with the everyone. Lions do that, too.
