Several years ago at my church I led worship on one Sunday morning.I detuned my guitar to drop A tuning and sang church songs. My heart was focused on the Lord Jesus and I wanted to bring him all the glory. I was wondering if Jesus likes metal. My guitar was heavily processed and the music was heavy. Does God approve

Jesus might like it (who's to say?) but it might be unpleasant the ears to some of the other parishioners.

You should know all the facts before making a decision
Satan was God's musician and invented rock and blues

This is really one of those divisive subjects in Christianity. As a former Christian who loved metal it was always difficult for me. I read countless opinions on either side, on both extremes, I'm completely familiar with the material Slenkar is referring to. I just don't know what the answer would that would be.

The root of metal is rock, the root of rock is rebellion, the root of rebellion is Satan. To sum up that opinion simplistically. The music is typically negative and/or angry, and has a very aggressive feel. Much of which is blatantly Satanic.

Now can this music be used for God if one's intent is to fully spread the Gospel and bring him glory Bibically speaking? I'm not really sure. I mean can you just mirror the world, "Jesus it up a bit" and call it really Christian? Or is it enough to have in your heart that intent, and is it ok to do as the Romans when in Rome for the purpose of spreading a better message?

I'm not a Christian any longer so it's hard for me to say. But essentially these are the questions you need to look at in my opinion.

When you did this did any of your congregation or pastor rebuke you for it? If not than that goes a long way toward answering your question.

But don't take my word for it at all. Just food for thought.

Lol indeed that's one example

The rolling stones had an album called 'on his satanic majesty's request' or something like that
Around the same time the Beatles released sergeant pepper and put aleister Crowley on the front (among others)

Rock was openly satanic in the eighties, then it went nihilistic in the nineties and encouraged suicide.

It's exponentially more so now. I think you'd be utterly overwhelmed with how bad it is today. As someone who once held your views yet enjoy that style of music, it still even shocks me sometimes.

But I guess the question for the OP is whether or not that STYLE of music has inherent satanic qualities or not. Not necessarily the patronizing or listening to the people who are promoting satanic messages, which is indisputably sinful if you are Christian in my opinion. But that wasn't the real question.

In my parents' denomination, instrumental music is forbidden in Church . Instrumental music outside of Church is okay, but music with a fast tempo is...frowned upon.

The Church music thing comes from a verse in one of the Corinthian letters which states Christians should 'sing and make melody in their heart', so the reasoning is that if people play instruments they are less likely to sing. (No, it doesn't make sense to anyone else either.)

As with all things in Christianity, what God does or doesn't approve of varies depending on which Bible you read, what your Church thinks, and what language you use to describe things. It's all very subjective.

Yeah I lost track of what was going on with rock in the nineties.

I honestly don't know if composing Christian rock music is bad or not,

Classical composers purposely avoided bluesy scales because they sounded sinister, but that is not biblical evidence.

I personally prefer my own church's traditional worship, with music from the Lutheran hymnal, accompanied by either organ or piano music. That said, if some other church wants heavy metal, or at least Christian rock, then that's their business.
That said, I personally agree with Hank Hill, when he said: "Christian rock didn't make Christianity better, it just made rock-n'-roll worse."

People say all sorts of things about Jesus. But, if He is omnipotent in all ways, He would be the world's biggest metalhead. He is pleased with anything which makes people happy (unless it harms them or others). Did you know Jesus even made a few jokes in the New Testament? He loves humor.

John 1:45-51, King James Version (KJV) wrote:
45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? ["Bazinga!"] Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! ["Look, an honest Jew!"]

48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me ["Have we met before?"]? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. ["You ain't seen nothing yet!"]

51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
