What do you all think?

Anyone a waiter or waitress?

Would you like this person to leave you a $5,000 tip? What would you think if he did? If you are an atheist, would you accept it or return?

I was never a waiter, but I worked with food for short time, and receiving such a blessing from anyone would've made me very grateful. I'd want to thank them in person.

The article says the gentleman slips out of the establishments before anyone finds out about the larger than average tip he leaves.

I delivered pizzas for years, so being a good tipper (even when it's not me you're tipping) has always been a great way to get on my good side.

But this is just too much. If it had happened to me, I wouldn't have been able to take the money.

Still, good guy. Especially for remaining anonymous. It's nice to know some people really do enjoy giving to others, rather than just buying a public pat on the back.

What has this got to do with Jesus or Christianity?

It is nice to see the rich being generous with their money. I doubt many of them are.

He signs them "tips for Jesus".

So what does that mean? He is leaving the tip for Jesus?

There is a concurrent thread about someone refusing to tip because the "waiter was gay".

That restaurant patron probably also thought they were doing God's work.

So which restaurant patron do you think is more true to Jesus?

I wonder if the Tips for Jesus tipper would tip a waiter or waitress if he knew they were gay?

When I was a waitress some Christians left me a little card with the tip saying that they could see I was a troubled person and that Jesus loved me.I would have preferred a pile of money.

I'd accept it and split it with the person who didn't get a tip from Christians due to he was gay. Sounds fair to me.

What about taking the tip and donating it to the liberals who believe in separation of church and state and birth control in employer provided health insurance?

I used to frequent a breakfast diner next to a mega-church. I asked different waitress who are the worst tippers. Without hesitation they all said people from the church. The article strikes me as BS, a likely made up story.

I bet the reason the people from the mega church do not tip the servers much at the restaurant is they spend all their money tithing the church instead.
